A 37-year-old has been charged with murder after an event within which a person died on Auckland’s North Shore. police
Police launched a homicide investigation on Friday after a person died from critical injuries at a property on Northcote’s Akoranga Dr about 5.30pm on Thursday.
Two others were taken to North Shore Hospital and Auckland City Hospital with serious and minor injuries respectively, a St John spokeswoman said.
The man will appear within the North Shore District Court on Saturday and also faces an assault charge for injuring a person .
Police understand the person and the victim were known to each other.
Locals said there were about 12 police cars at the scene during the peak of the incident.
Te Aroha Devon, who lives across the road, told Stuff the property was a boarding house.
The Auckland University of Technology is offering support and counselling to any of its student residents upset by the incident, which occurred very on the brink of its student accommodation. Police man murder
