Martin Lewis’s MSE reveals Centre Parcs tricks for a cheap autumn break | Travel News | Travel

If you’re hoping to get away for a few days but want to make sure it’s an affordable break these tricks will help you save some money.

Martin Lewis has revealed the best ways to find a cheap holiday in the UK with Centre Parcs.

Centre Parks is a popular place for Brits to go to for a staycation, with sites in Whinfell in Cumbria, Sherwood in Nottinghamshire, Elveden in Suffolk, Woburn in Bedfordshire and Longleat in Wiltshire.

Firstly, the Money Saving Expert says it’s important to make the most of what the parks offer so knowing what facilities they have for no extra cost is crucial to making the most of your trip.

You can use the swimming pool for free, other water activities are available for an added cost and there are also spa facilities you can pay for.

If you’re hoping for a Europe getaway, Centre Parcs sites in Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands can be cheaper than the ones in the UK – so it’s worth having a look.

Another piece of advice is to book late rather than earlier in advance of your trip. According to Martin Lewis, prices come down around eight weeks before the date of planned travel. Booking late does mean lower prices are guaranteed but last-minute booking is usually cheaper than earlier booking.

Outside of term time, prices are much higher for Centre Parcs so if you are able to go in term time, you’ll save £100s on your trip.

If you plan to cycle while on the holiday site, it’s much cheaper to take your own bike as it can work out quite expensive to hire one when you get there.

When you’re booking your trip, make sure to check the prices on different websites where possible. Money Saving Expert says that if you plan to go to a Centre Parcs site outside of the UK, make sure to check prices on the Centre Parcs site for the country you want to visit rather than through their GB site – prices can be much cheaper.

One visitor on Tripadvisor said: “This was the first time that I have stayed at a Center Parcs. I thought it was an amazing experience. There is so much to do from indoor to outdoor activities is unbelievable.

“It was a very good experience to do with my family who has young children. I will definitely be doing it again at some point. Can’t believe that I have waited this long to do it. I will be coming back again to Center Parcs.”
