Finding what film or TV show to watch next is often a hard and arduous task. Thousands of hours have been spent endlessly scrolling through Netflix and Amazon Prime in the modern online era when there is almost too much choice.

With that, and the increasingly expensive subscription prices, many choose to ditch them altogether and stick to good old-fashioned terrestrial TV.

Despite Netflix’s reputation for having big blockbusters, ITV will be the one airing one of the best films of the past few decades – and it’s completely free to watch.

There is arguably no better spy film franchise than James Bond, full of action, charm and some classic British wit, the movies have become synonymous with what it means to be British. Whether your 007 is Sean Connery, Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan every fan was blown away by the arrival of Daniel Craig as the films felt like they became more realistic, gritty and darker than the light-hearted (and sometimes over the top) films of yesteryear.

But Bond fans are once again set for a treat as his iconic debut, and one of the best Bond films ever created, Casino Royal will be free to watch on ITV tonight.

Airing from 8pm until 10.40pm, the film based on Ian Flemming’s first bond book follows a newly-licensed 007 tasked with bankrupting a terrorist financier known as Le Chiffre during a high-stakes poker game at Casino Royale.

What ensues is a tense action-packed plot with a stunning finale in Venice and the Italian lakes.

The film was a hit with both fans and critics gaining a stellar 94% on Rotten Tomatoes being ranked the fourth best out of the franchise and the highest rating for a Bond film that doesn’t star Sean Connery.

One happy viewer leaving a five-star Google Review agreed with the critic writing: “A James Bond masterpiece… Casino Royale could hold the title of being the greatest James Bond film ever made!

“Like the “Vesper Martini” it invents, the film is a rich, flavourful, and perfectly measured concoction that brings together every single right ingredient into a work of greatness!”

While another claimed it to be the best film they had ever watched posting: ” I’ve seen plenty of film of different types and genres, so this certainly isn’t an ‘apples-to-apples’ comparison but nonetheless, Casino Royale is one of, if not, the greatest film I’ve seen in my life.
