Acting legend Jamie Lee Curtis hit out over President Donald Trump after holding back tears when she discussed receiving a letter from the late Diana, Princess of Wales, as the star compared it with the “example of the people leading my country and the hatred that they feel”. Jamie said she once came close to meeting Diana when she and her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, visited the set of Fierce Creatures in 1997. Speaking on ITV’s This Morning, Jamie, 67, said they missed one another, so she wrote a letter to the royal and received a reply just two days later from her.

Looking emotional, Jamie said: “She was an extraordinary person. She was – what an example. And look at where I live, and look at the example of the leaders, look at the example of the people leading my country and the hatred that they feel.”

Referencing footage of Donald Trump calling a female reporter “piggy” in recent days, Jamie said she was taken aback by his “unacceptable behaviour”.

“I think that unhinged moment of his abuse and vile behaviour is going to be his undoing,” she noted.

Jamie also praised “the grace and dignity and kindness and generosity” now displayed by Princess Katherine.

The “piggy” exchange happened with a Bloomberg White House correspondent named Catherine Lucey aboard Air Force One on November 13.

When she asked the President about the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, he snapped back, saying, “Quiet, piggy!”

However, some supporters have disputed that he said “Peggy”, not “piggy”.

His press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, said when addressing the incident, “Look, the president is very frank and honest with everyone in this room.

“You’ve all seen it yourself,” she added. “You’ve all experienced it yourselves. And I think it’s one of the many reasons the American people re-elected this president. He calls out fake news when he sees it.”
