Russia’s leading state television propagandist, Vladimir Solovyov, has declared European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas “terrorists” and threatened to hunt them down “in the toilet” and kill them there. The threat was broadcast on Rossiya 1 on December 7 as the EU prepares to use profits from €300 billion in frozen Russian central bank assets to fund Ukraine’s defence.

Solovyov said: “The attempt to steal our assets shows us that the EU, as such a structure, is a thief and a terrorist organisation… Declare Ursula von der Leyen and Kaja Kallas as terrorists, and, well, we’ll find them in the toilet, and we’ll kill them in the toilet.

“That is, we are dealing with a Nazi terrorist entity.”

A 43-second clip of the rant was posted on X by Mr Geraschenko, former adviser to Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs.

Mr Geraschenko captioned it: “Russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov threatens to kill Ursula von der Leyen and Kaja Kallas ‘in the toilet’.”

The post has been viewed more than 70,000 times.

Solovyov, 61, hosts prime-time shows on state television and has been sanctioned by the EU, UK and US since 2022 for spreading disinformation and justifying Russia’s war.

He has previously called for nuclear strikes on Western cities and the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war.

The outburst follows last week’s G7 and EU decision to channel interest from the frozen Russian funds into a £44billion (€50 billion) aid package for Kyiv, a policy strongly backed by von der Leyen and Kallas.

Replies to Mr Geraschenko’s post have condemned the threat, with several highlighting its misogynistic tone against two female leaders.
