Trump health fears as staff ‘panicking’ about major problem | World | News

The White House is in a state of panic over Donald Trump ‘falling asleep’ during public events, with the President reportedly raging at his staff as a result, it has been claimed. Trump biographer Michael Wolff claimed on Wednesday that Trump’s seemingly frequent habit of nodding off during meetings and events has left staff with no idea what to do.

He said: “I never remember Trump falling asleep, it used to be got bored and then would walk out. You can’t wake him up because the cameras are rolling. Everyone is in a low-level panic all the time about Trump falling asleep.”

Host of the Daily Beast’s ‘Inside Trump’s Head’ podcast asked Mr Wolff: “Is that what you are hearing?”

He replied: “Yes, that’s what I am hearing.”

Mr Wolff went on: “Then he gets angry. He essentially blames the people around him for the fact that he fell asleep. Nobody knows what to do.”

Last week, Trump appeared to fall asleep during a Cabinet meeting.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt denied the allegations, claiming Trump was engaged and listening.

In a statement, she added: “President Trump was listening attentively and running the entire three-hour marathon Cabinet meeting.”

Two days later, he appeared to fall asleep in public for the second time while hosting leaders from Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The President of the United States was signing peace agreements with the two African countries in Washington.

The pacts also aim to unlock new opportunities for the US to access critical minerals.

President Trump’s health has been a subject of speculation and scrutiny in recent months.

On Tuesday night, he published a long post on Truth Social dismissing the suggestion he is struggling in the job, branding such criticism “treasonous.”

He said: “There has never been a President that has worked as hard as me! My hours are the longest, and my results are among the best.”

Mr Trump added: “Despite all of this, the time and work involved, The New York Times, and some others, like to pretend that I am ‘slowing up,’ am maybe not as sharp as I once was, or am in poor physical health, knowing that it is not true, and knowing that I work very hard, probably harder than I have ever worked before.”
