What we know about Emma Raducanu ‘leaving Nike for new sponsor’ in 2026 | Tennis | Sport
Emma Raducanu’s endorsements have been a major talking point ever since she lifted the US Open trophy as a teenage qualifier in 2021. The British No. 1 inked multiple brand deals following her historic Grand Slam triumph, and still has deals with the likes of Evian and Wild deodorant.
But it’s Raducanu’s clothing sponsor that has been thrust into the spotlight in recent days. While the world No. 29 is hard at work in Barcelona for a pre-season training block with coach Francisco Roig, there have been rumblings that Raducanu will leave Nike for Uniqlo next season.
However, Express Sport understands that there is no update on Raducanu’s clothing sponsor, and the reports cannot be confirmed.
Meanwhile, Uniqlo says there is no impending announcement regarding a deal with Raducanu. “UNIQLO partners with world-leading people as Global Brand Ambassadors to promote the UNIQLO brand and LifeWear concept,” the brand said in a statement.
“Though we are always interested to partner with inspirational people for our Global Brand Ambassadors program, there is nothing to announce.”
Raducanu is currently spending the month in Barcelona as part of her pre-season and will enjoy Christmas at home in the UK before heading Down Under to start the 2026 season. The British No. 1 will represent her country at the United Cup, which kicks off on January 2.
Roger Federer famously swapped Nike for Uniqlo when his long-time partnership with Nike came to an end in 2018. The 20-time Major champion rocked up at Wimbledon kitted out in Uniqlo after months of speculation about his apparel sponsorship.
The Swiss star is still a Uniqlo ambassador to this day, despite being retired, and wears their clothes while making public appearances. And Federer’s agent, Tony Godsick, recently opened up on the switch from Nike to Uniqlo, admitting that it was Nike who “left” Federer.
Speaking on Andy Roddick’s Served podcast, Godsick said he was unable to get a new Nike deal for Federer and later reached out to Uniqlo, with the help of Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
Godsick flew out to Japan for a meeting, where he bagged a deal. “We didn’t have a press release; our press release was him walking out on Centre Court at Wimbledon,” Godsick said of Federer’s move to Uniqlo.
