Trump and Andrew Mountbatten’s names appear in Epstein files contact book | World | News

Donald Trump and Andrew Mountbatten are among the names mentioned in a contact book released back in February. Being mentioned in the files does not suggest guilt or any wrongdoing.

US President Mr Trump and Jeffrey Epstein were said to have shared a social friendship from the late 1980s but Trump was quick to distance himself from the disgraced financier and said he “kicked him out” of his club because he was “a creep” to girls.

Unsealed documents, photos, and recent 2025 releases frequently mention Mr Trump as a past associate, including social media images and Epstein’s own claims of closeness, but contain no allegations or evidence of Mr Trump’s involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities.

The spotlight is once again on the contacts book, which has been on the DOJ’s website since February.

The former Duke’s ex-wife, previously the Duchess of York, now known as Sarah Ferguson, is also in the redacted list.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor maintained a close friendship with Jeffrey Epstein for years, including visits to his properties and flights on his private jet even after Epstein’s 2008 conviction, while Ms Ferguson accepted financial help from Epstein to settle debts and later corresponded with him despite public disavowals.

The fallout has been severe for Andrew, who stepped back from royal duties in 2019, settled a civil lawsuit with accuser Virginia Giuffre in 2022 without admitting liability, and was stripped of all royal titles and honors in 2025 amid renewed scrutiny from resurfaced emails showing continued contact with Epstein.

Sarah Ferguson faced her own consequences in 2025, including being dropped as patron by multiple charities after a 2011 email surfaced in which she called Epstein a “supreme friend” and apologised for criticising him, though her spokesperson claimed it was sent under threat of legal action.
