For women dealing with hair loss, there could be an efficient solution with Amazon this season. With great deals on haircare, this limited-time offer puts a great price on a product that promises ‘new hair in as little as 12 weeks’.

The Regaine for Women 5% Minoxidil Extra Strength Scalp Foam for Hair Regrowth is currently priced at £42.24, down from £50, for a two-pack of 73ml. With options for various months of treatment from one to four, there are also multi-packs and singular bottles available. 

With the active ingredient minoxidil at five percent, the brand says it has been tested in clinical studies across five countries, promising their foam works in ‘8 out of 10 women who apply it once daily’. At first, it enlarges inactive follicles to get them growing before increasing blood flow, while stimulating and extending the growth phase of hair, the brand says. 

The brand says this has the effect of giving shoppers ‘new, thicker hair’ by working under the skin on follicle roots. It is recommended to simply apply the foam directly to the scalp once a day before massaging gently and washing thoroughly. 

As an alternative, shoppers could look at the Hairburst Volume & Growth Elixir from Boots, currently priced at £16, down from £24, saving a handy £8. With an active ingredient of AnaGain, derived from pea sprouts that helps to reduce hair loss and stimulate growth, the product can protect against heat, UV rays and pollution, all with a coconut and avocado scent, the brand says.

Buyers could also look at the L’Oréal Paris Elvive Growth Booster Anti Hair Loss Serum, currently priced at £16.99. While this one uses Aminexil, a different ingredient that claims to prevent hair follicles from hardening and improve root health, this serum is said to treat early signs of hair thinning and hair loss.

One shopper, as part of a longer review, said: “So, I didn’t actually think this would work. I have been using this since September and the difference is unbelievable. I have always had thin hair, everybody in my family does. It has been getting progressively worse now I am in my 30s, to the extent that I catch people looking at my scalp when they are talking to me.

“I went out for dinner with my friends recently (they did not know I had been using Regaine), and they all couldn’t believe it. They couldn’t believe it was my hair.”

Another shopper as part of a longer review said: “If I could show you the top of my head two years ago, it was seriously balding. My mother had female pattern hair loss and I was going the same way. I had to use scalp camouflage and hair fibres. Although my parting now isn’t like it was as a youngun, it’s a 100% improvement.”
