easyJet announces major change for passengers this December | Travel News | Travel

A budget airline has announced a change this December. easyJet has launched services from Manchester to two new destinations.

The maiden voyages to the Scandinavian Mountains and Verona in Italy departed on Saturday (December 20) and will run on a weekly basis throughout the winter period.

easyJet remains the sole scheduled operator connecting the UK with the Scandinavian Mountains.

They sit on the border with Norway and offer an extensive array of winter activities. The region boasts some of Europe’s finest skiing and snowboarding, with seven nearby resorts and more than 260 slopes suitable for all skill levels to choose from.

The ancient city of Verona in northern Italy serves as the backdrop for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

Visitors can discover the magnificent arena, wander beside the Adige River, explore Juliet’s House, and savour genuine Italian dishes in the city’s bustling squares.

Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, commented to say: “We are really pleased to be celebrating our inaugural flights to the Scandinavian Mountains and Verona.

“By introducing connections from Manchester to two more new destination on our unrivalled leisure network, customers from across the northwest can now enjoy even more choice this winter.”

This follows easyJet’s earlier announcement of a fresh route linking Liverpool with Naples in Italy. The carrier’s new services will run on Mondays and Fridays commencing August 3 next year.

To accommodate easyJet’s new routes departing from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, the airline will introduce an extra aircraft, bringing their complete fleet to nine planes.

Mr Doyle said: “In our 30th year, we’re still as committed as ever to making travel easy and affordable for our customers in the UK.

“With this latest new route from Liverpool to the vibrant city of Naples now available to book for flights and package holidays for next summer, we’re continuing to provide our customers in the Northwest with even more choice and connectivity at fantastic fares, and we look forward to welcoming them onboard.”

easyJet commenced operations from Manchester initially in March 2008. Currently, the carrier runs up to 915 weekly departures from Manchester, providing 79 destinations across 25 nations throughout Europe and North Africa.

Bookings can be made from £22.99 through easyJet.com and the mobile app.
