Epstein files: 11,000 more documents released including photos and videos | World | News

A huge new trove of 11,000 Jeffrey Epstein files, including videos and photos, has been released by the US Department of Justice (DOJ). Thousands of files have been published by the DoJ in this latest drop, including nearly 400 videos, evidence spreadsheets, part clippings, and audio files.

Last week, the first Epstein files were released by the US Department of Justice following the passing of the Epstein Transparency Act and new images of celebrities were included. The files included several images, transcripts and evidence in relation to the disgraced financier’s case.

The files have been organised into five different data sets and contain photographs of Epstein with celebrities. Among those pictured are Donald Trump, Kevin Spacey, Michael Jackson, Mick Jagger, and Sarah Ferguson. The files are extensive, listing and picturing many individuals. Appearing in them does not suggest wrongdoing.

As the Department of Justice began releasing more documents, President Donald Trump said he doesn’t “like the pictures of other people being shown”.

Speaking following the photo dump, 79-year-old Mr Trump also said: “I know there are a lot of people that are angry about all the pictures of other people.

“I think it’s terrible… This whole thing with Epstein is a way to try to deflect from the tremendous success of the Republican Party. I thought that was finished, a lot of people are very angry that this continues.”

When making his first comments on the files, following the publication of an initial tranche on Friday, President Trump dismissed the intense speculation over what was – and wasn’t included – as distracting from his party’s achievements.

Former US president Bill Clinton has featured prominently in some of the photos shared.

Asked for his reaction, Trump said: “I like Bill Clinton. I hate to see photos come out of him. There’s photos of me too. Everybody was friendly with this guy (Epstein). You probably have pictures being exposed of other people that innocently met Jeffrey Epstein years ago, many years ago, and they’re highly respected bankers and lawyers and others.

“But they’re in a picture with him because he was at a party, and you ruin the reputation of somebody,” the BBC also reported.

Trump and Clinton have both been associated with Epstein, but have since disowned their friendship. They haven’t been accused of any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein, and appearing in the files does not suggest any wrongdoing.
