2021’s Spider-Man No Way Home is on BBC 1 this afternoon, concluding Tom Holland’s first trilogy as Peter Parker.

The almost $2 billion Marvel movie thrilled fans with not just the return of five classic villains but also Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Web Slingers in a multiverse mash-up.

Now Holland is back for his very own Spider-Man 4, titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which recently wrapped filming.

Directed by Shang-Chi’s Dustin Daniel Cretton, the first teaser trailer showed close-ups of Holland’s new suit as he geared up to start filming in Glasgow.

As for the plot, it’s rumoured to be more street-level and grounded, with Jon Bernthal reprising The Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk and Michael Mando as Scorpion.

Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is also expected to appear with Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink in a mystery role. Brand New Day is a Spider-Man comic book storyline set after the world has forgotten him. That fits perfectly as No Way Home concluded with everybody forgetting who Peter Parker is, including MJ, so presumably, Holland’s Spidey will be finding a way to restore her memory. The three Spider-Man stars are also expected to reunite in either Avengers Doomsday or Avengers Secret Wars or both.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases in cinemas on July 31, 2026.
