Timothée Chalamet favourite part of the UK is brimming with famous faces | UK | Travel

Timothée Chalamet has disclosed a soothing ritual he enjoys before bedtime — and it centres entirely around the Cotswolds. During a chat with BBC Radio 2’s Scott Mills this week, the Wonka and Dune star expressed his adoration for the British countryside, particularly this charming region. In footage available on the official BBC Radio 2 TikTok, he revealed: “You drive through the British countryside, it’s amazing. The air is so fresh here. You know, I’ll go to sleep watching little house tours of the Cotswolds. That’s not even a joke, man.

“That’s like my comfort, is watching house tours of the Cotswolds or little 4K walking videos. There’s all sorts of little cute towns and you put on your boots, and it’s raining… Sunday roasts… It just sounds awesome.” Scott responded, as Timothée beamed with delight: “You love that, don’t you? Look at his little face!”

The pair then discussed the distinctly British place names found across the UK, with the radio host recommending the film star visit Chipping Norton, a market town close to David and Victoria Beckham’s residence, reports Gloucestershire Live

Timothée suggested he could quite happily settle here, quipping: “That’s where I’ll be… If you call me a real estate colonialist, I’ll just say we’re getting you back for the 1700s… 1776!”

He wouldn’t be the first famous face to make the Cotswolds his residence, though.

There’s already a stellar line-up of celebrity inhabitants in the area, featuring David and Victoria Beckham, Elizabeth Hurley, Kate Moss, Simon Cowell, and Princess Beatrice.

Even Hollywood A-listers such as Ellen DeGeneres and her spouse Portia de Rossi have fallen under its spell, as GloucestershireLive highlighted earlier this year.

Nicholas Rudge, Sales Director at Savills Estate Agents in Banbury, explained why this picturesque area has attracted so many famous faces.

Speaking to Hello! magazine, he revealed: “The Cotswolds has become hugely fashionable because money has poured out of London. The region is safe, it’s civilised, it’s protected; it can’t be overdeveloped, as it’s an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

“If you come from a Georgian or Victorian house in London but you grew up in the country, there’s this romantic image of pubs with fires and long walks with dogs, and that’s exactly what the Cotswolds offers.

“You can bump into Kate Moss down in Thyme; you can see all sorts of people. What’s rather nice is that they just get on with their lives and I think a lot of people respect that.”
