As London prepares to welcome in 2026 millions of Brits planning to watch the iconic fireworks that will light up the sky have been issued a warning. Tonight at midnight Big Ben’s famous “bongs” ring out will ring out for the new year in London, followed by the UK’s largest annual fireworks display near the London Eye.

Those wanting to watch the spectacular fireworks will need to make sure they have a ticket. However, tickets for the Mayor of London’s New Year’s Eve Fireworks have now sold out and people wanting to catch them will have to sit back at home and watch them on BBC1.

Taking to X Sadiq Khan, The Mayor of London, reminded Brits tickets for the annual event have sold out.

He said: “Tonight’s the night – London’s spectacular NYE fireworks return to the banks of the Thames to ring in 2026.

100,000 people will be in attendance at the fireworks tonight.

“If you don’t have a ticket, you can still watch live on BBC One or BBC iPlayer from the comfort of your own home.”

Those sitting back with a drink or two can look forward to a jamp packed TV schedule. BBC One will broadcast Ronan Keating and Friends: A New Year’s Eve Party from 11.30pm.

The Boyzone star will take to the stage alongside bandmates Keith Duffy and Shane Lynch, joined by former girl-band member Louise Redknapp, singer-songwriter Calum Scott, and I’m A Celebrity star Shona McGarty.

Ronan is set to reunite with his former Boyzone bandmates for a much-anticipated special performance.

The programme will pause for 15 minutes to show the London fireworks display before the celebrations resume at 12.15am.
