‘Shots fired’ at house in major UK city in ‘targeted’ arson attack | UK | News
Police have detained four people following a deliberate attack in which a house in Coventry was both shot at and set on fire. Emergency services, including police officers and firefighters, quickly responded to the scene on Wolston Way in Willenhall on Friday night.
Authorities have since confirmed that three men and one woman were arrested in Northumbria in connection with the incident. As the investigation continues, officers are appealing to the public for any information that could help them piece together what happened and identify anyone else who may have been involved. A spokesman for Coventry Police told Coventry Live: “We have arrested four people after a house was set on fire and shot at in Coventry.
“The property on Wolston Way was set ablaze in what we believe was a targeted attack at around 9pm on Friday. We now believe a number of shots from an air weapon were also fired. Fortunately, no one was hurt during the incident.
“A woman and three men, all in their 20s, have now been arrested. They were all held in the Northumbria Police area on Saturday evening and were returned to the West Midlands for questioning.
“They remain in custody this afternoon. At this stage we believe the address was specifically targeted.
