Tyson Fury comeback date and opponent confirmed for UK bout | Boxing | Sport

However, the announcement he will face Makhmudov, who recently overcame popular British boxer Dave Allen via an unanimous decision, has ended any possibility of the Gypsy King being retired. A specific location for the bout is yet to be confirmed, but it will be held in the UK. Fury has not competed in a boxing match in the UK since he stopped Derek Chisora in 2022. Now he will be moving at full throttle to make a huge statement against the giant Makhmudov.

Fury said: “Excited to be back. Heart’s always been and always will be in boxing. Someone go tell the king that the ace is back!”

Speaking about the opportunity given to him. Makhmudov also said: “I am thrilled about the opportunity. I’m coming to deliver a War. Tyson Fury has been a big champion. I will be more ready than ever to leave with a massive W.”

The bout will be streamed on Netflix, who are also currently working with Fury and his family on a hit documentary series ‘At Home With the Furys’ which is chronicling the life of the Gypsy King and his family. It will be Fury’s first fight since he was beaten by an unanimous decision by Usyk in December 2024.

Makhmudov has suffered two defeats in his boxing career, including a painful stoppage by No. 2 ranked heavyweight Agit Kabayel in 2023, on the undercard of Anthonyn Joshua’s bout with Otto Wallin.

He was also shocked by Italian star Guido Vianello in Quebec City one year later. After previously being touted as one of the most feared heavyweights in the division, Makhmudov is trying to build up his momentum.

The Russian went some way to doing that in 2025 by overcoming Ricardo Brown and Allen. His clash with Fury will be, by a distance, the biggest fight of his career.

It’s also a dangerous first post-retirement fight for Fury, who has not beaten a full-time boxer since overcoming Derek Chisora in 2022. The Morecambe fighter’s last victory was over UFC fighter Francis Ngannou in October 2023, which saw him get knocked down on his way to a split-decision win.

Fury will feel he has several points to prove. Despite losing both fights to Usyk on the judges cards, he has repeatedly insisted he did enough to win both fights.
