Argos shoppers rush to get smartphones for half price using simple code

Fancy a posh new phone in your pocket without paying the usual high price? You might want to take a quick trip to Argos. The UK retailer has just launched a massive Red Day sale event with a whole swathe of products reduced in price, including TVs, headphones and earbuds. There are plenty of decent discounts to choose from, but one that has caught our eye knocks a whopping 50 percent off a top-rated smartphone.

At launch, the Pixel 9 from Google cost a pretty hefty £799. Luckily, that cost has now plummeted to just £399.50 which is half the usual price.

It’s a massive cut, and all you need to know is the simple RED50 code. Just apply this before paying at the checkout, and the cost instantly tumbles.

So, should you invest in a Pixel 9? This isn’t the most recent Android phone from Google, but it still packs a pretty mighty punch thanks to a Tensor processor, long battery life, fast charging and toughened design.

It also features a clever rear camera that can help you snap images like a pro and take bright, pixel-packed images even the the sun goes down.

Extras such as Magic Editor and Add Me can adjust images automatically so you always get the ultimate shot.

Of course, this is a Google phone, so it gets plenty of smart features, such as Circle to Search, along with full access to the Gemini assistant. This means you can chat to the device like a real person and get a sensible response.

As we mentioned earlier, the Pixel 9 has now been superseded by the more impressive Pixel 10, but even with a current £250 discount, that device costs £549.

The Pixel 9 deal from Argos is genuinely one to check out as rival retailers such as Very and Currys simply can’t match it. Both of those stores are selling this Google phone for £499, which is £100 more.

Just remember, you’ll need to apply the RED50 code, or else you’ll pay full price.
