February isn’t famed for being a big month for price cuts, but Argos is bucking the trend with a new event that is discounting hundreds of products. The UK retailer’s BIG RED sale is offering lower prices, with unique codes available to punch in at checkout. Some devices, including the Pixel 9 from Google, have been slashed by as much as 50 per cent, making this an event not to be missed.

Along with phones, headphones and earbuds, there are also some decent discounts on TVs, with some models reduced by as much as 20 per cent.

There are loads to choose from, including screens from Samsung, TCL, Sony and LG.

However, one deal that has caught our eye is offering a Freely-powered Toshiba screen for just £111. This smart telly is usually priced at £139, but add the code RED20 at the checkout and that drops by 20 percent.

For that low cost, you get a 32-inch HD display and full access to the Freely platform.

For those not in the know, Freely is a lot like Sky’s latest Glass TVs. This service comes built into the device and offers over 60 live channels without needing an aerial.

All owners need to do is plug the TV into the mains, connect it to their Wi-Fi and start watching content. Freely even lets you pause live TV, plus there’s full TV guide so you can see what is on now and next.

Of course, it can’t match Sky’s premium content, but it’s totally free to watch, and there are no monthly subscriptions to pay.

That 32-inch Bush TV isn’t the only telly in the sales with plenty of other goggleboxes reduced.
