Donald Trump has sent a stern four-word warning to Iran – hours after he confirmed the deployment of a second US aircraft carrier group to the Middle East. The move came after the President confirmed a second aircraft carrier would be sent to the region “in case we don’t make a deal”.

Trump voiced confidence that diplomacy could still succeed but warned there would be consequences if talks collapse. “I think they’ll be successful. If they’re not, it’s going to be a bad day for Iran, very bad,” Trump said. The US has intensified pressure on Tehran after last month’s deadly crackdown on protests.
