West Ham vs Brentford TV coverage blocked by Discovery+ glitch | Football | Sport
West Ham and Brentford faced off in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday evening but some viewers on Discovery+ were unable to watch live. For an unknown reason, any time viewers tried to stream the game via the Discovery+ app, it reverted back to the start of the game which left fans fuming.
@HarryScarfe22 said: “Anybody else having issues trying to get West Ham and Brentford on. The TNT coverage won’t let me watch live.” @Exhoolie46 added: ” Anyone know how to work discovery+? Trying to watch West Ham Brentford, pressing watch live and it just takes me to the start of the coverage?”
@Mike58052135380 later stated: “Disgraceful service streaming @tntsports on @discoveryplus – live stream of West Ham Brentford stopped working second half. Discovery plus online chat offered no solution. Says it’s away of an issue for customers. No sign of resolution. I pay £££ for this shoddy service.”
Those that could not watch live missed quite the exciting cup tie with Jarrod Bowen opening the scoring in the first half. Igor Thiago equalised soon after but the Hammers restored their advantage with Bowen again on target after VAR intervened to give a penalty for a foul by Michael Kayode.
Thiago later netted from 12 yards to send the game into extra-time with the clash ultimately decided by spot-kicks. All five West Ham takers scored with Dango Outtara the only player to miss as he attempted a panenka which Alphonse Areola simply caught.
A 5-4 triumph on penalties has seen West Ham set up a quarter-final tie at home to Leeds United. Other last-eight ties include Arsenal taking on Southampton, Chelsea hosting Port Vale and arguably the highlight of Manchester City clashing with Liverpool.
The Champions League is now the focus for most of the above teams with the latter heading to Galatasaray on Tuesday while City face Real Madrid and Chelsea head to Paris Saint-Germain. Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle United are the other English sides in action this midweek.
The Gunners take on Bayer Leverkusen while Eddie Howe’s will contest two last-16 legs against Spanish giants Barcelona with Spurs facing their domestic rivals Atletico Madrid over the next week. Bayern Munich vs Atalanta and Sporting CP against Bodo/Glimt are the other last-16 ties.
