Strands is a daily word game – and an incredibly addictive one at that – available on the New York Times website alongside fellow puzzle games like Wordle.

The aim of the game is to find all of the words contained within a grid of letters. You can drag or tap the letters to discover each of the six words, which all share a common theme.

The theme words cover the entire board, and none overlap. Likewise, there’s also a spangram that stretches from one side of the board to the other. The spangram describes the board’s theme. Get it early and you should have an easier time finding the other words in the grid.

In the example shared by the NYT, theme words could include LIME, BANANA and APPLE, while FRUIT works as the Spangram.
