Amazon’s best-selling TV nearly 30% off but spring sale ends in hours

Amazon’s best-selling smart TV is almost 30% off in a spring sale that ends in hours. It’s up for grabs in the Amazon Spring Deal Days sale, where there’s more than £55 off the 40” Hisense FHD LED TV with Freely.

Originally £209, it’s currently available at £151.05, a saving of 28% and the cheapest price ever, according to price tracker camelcamelcamel. This particular model is the number-one selling smart TV at Amazon, ahead of more expensive models from Samsung and LG.

However, time is running out to secure the deal before Amazon’s sale ends at 11.59pm on Monday (March 16). The Hisense smart TV boasts a grid of tightly packed LED’s behind the screen that’s said to deliver crisp, vivid colours and deep blacks in 1080p resolution across the entire display.

It also uses a natural colour enhancer to display more true-to-life colours, while Dolby technology and DTS Virtual X surround sound makes audio appear to be coming from all around for more immersive viewing. What’s more, its wide viewing angle ensures the display is clear and crisp from any position.

One key feature of the Hisense smart TV is Freely, the free streaming offering countless films and series from BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and more. It streams live and on-demand content over WiFi rather than a traditional satellite dish or aerial.

Elsewhere, the TV also provides easy access to apps Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+, but these need a paid subscription to access. Similar features are found on Sky Glass, the broadcaster’s own smart TV with Sky channels and streaming apps built in.

Like Freely, this works over WiFi and starts at £6 per month alongside a Sky TV subscription from £15. But the 40” Hisense FHD LED TV with Freely has been a hit with Amazon customers, achieving a 4.4-star rating after more than 300 reviews.

One said: “Mind blowing quality and very reasonable price. Beautiful quality of colours, really sharp detail on the picture, and excellent sound quality. Amazed at the quality and the choice of things to watch.”

Another said: “Surprised how good this TV is. Bought for bedroom as I changed room around and too much trouble to move aerial, so this was ideal with Freely built in. Picture is really sharp and the colour’s good – sound is nice and clear.”

Despite their five-star review, the same Hisense buyer added: “The only negative is it does not have voice search or Bluetooth built in, but highly recommend this for a second TV in the house.”

Nevertheless, another five-star review said: “Really pleased with this – the picture is excellent, setup was a breeze and the sound wasn’t at all bad for this type of TV which doesn’t have space for big speakers. I’m using a sound bar anyway, but I think I could live with the sound from the TV if I didn’t. I was particularly keen to get a TV with Freely as my reception via the aerial has been appalling – no longer need to worry about the signal.”
