It seems winter has persisted endlessly this year, with numerous regions across the country only now starting to emerge from months of relentless rain and overcast conditions to glimpse a touch of sunshine. With Easter approaching, which can be an unpredictable period for UK weather, many Brits will be seeking to escape to the sunniest destination they can discover for a few days.

Fortunately, TUI has compiled a list of the Easter breaks that are most likely to deliver the perfect weather conditions, examining historical data on the average rainfall, wind speed, and temperature in early-April to calculate a Good Weather Score. Britons will be delighted to learn that sitting at the top of the rankings is a destination just over four hours away from the UK that’s anticipated to reach highs of 19C over the coming fortnight. According to TUI’s rankings, Turkey historically has the “most ideal weather conditions” during the Easter holidays, typically offering holidaymakers average temperatures of 18C. It’s also the destination where you’re least likely to be caught in an April shower, reports Mirror.

In the Easter holiday months, the amount of rainfall is just 0.01mm on average. When the statistics were analysed by individual locations, Marmaris in Turkey emerged as the destination most likely to provide holidaymakers with the finest Easter weather conditions.

It frequently experiences highs of 19C around Easter, and is typically dry with only gentle breezes. Marmaris is situated in southwest Turkey in a region known as the Turkish Riviera. This vibrant port town boasts a marina, thriving grand bazaar, and historic landmarks such as the 16th-century Marmaris Castle.

Marmaris also possesses an impressive array of sandy beaches that border its turquoise waters. Marmaris Long Beach (Uzunyali), stretches approximately six miles, beginning at the city centre, and features a bustling promenade filled with hotels, restaurants, and bars.

A more tranquil option can be discovered at İçmeler Beach, just south of the city, where you’ll encounter sandy coves and spectacular mountain vistas.

Second on the list for favourable weather was Greece, and this period brings average temperatures of around 16C and extended sunny days. Meanwhile, Bulgaria ranked third for its “pleasant and balanced climate”.

Like Turkey it delivers gentle winds and minimal rainfall, and Easter can prove an ideal time to explore as tourists don’t have to battle with the severe summer heat.

Bulgaria is emerging as a significant hiking destination, particularly around the Rila and Pirin mountain ranges which offer gentle trails alongside more challenging, steep climbs.

Bulgaria is equally renowned for its breathtaking beaches. The Black Sea coast boasts 200 beaches and resorts to cater to all types of holiday-goers.

Sunny Beach is famed for its vibrant nightlife and budget-friendly drink offers, whilst Varna is a historic and cultural centre with soft golden sands and crystal-clear seas.
