Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has taken to social media to reveal he’s expected to be missing for ‘a while’ after picking up a new injury. The Brazilian international had missed Liverpool’s first leg against Galatasaray, but returned in time for the weekend clash with Spurs and was between the sticks for Wednesday’s return leg at Anfield.

It means that Alisson, who has struggled with injury problems throughout his Liverpool career, won’t be available for the Reds’ weekend visit to Brighton. Giorgi Mamardashvili is expected to take his place in goal, with Alisson having updated the Liverpool faithful via social media.

Posting on Instagram, the shot-stopper said: “Unfortunately I will be out of action for a while. Already working hard to be back stronger! Thank you for the support.”
