Homeless snooker star Judd Trump worth £10million announced yacht plan | Other | Sport
Trump may be glad to see the tournament arrive, too, after he was recently effectively made homeless in light of the United States and Israel’s recent attacks on Iran. Retaliatory strikes in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, where Trump has lived since early 2025, forced the Bristolian to suddenly uproot his life. “I had to leave [Dubai] so we went to Bangkok,” he said. “It’s a bit up in the air at the moment. I don’t really think I can go back, just in case I get stuck there. Just kind of looking for somewhere else to live.”
The world No. 1 went on to say he was “just trying to make the best of a bad situation”, and added: “It’s just difficult at the moment because you don’t know where I’m going to be living. Every day is different. Just living in a hotel for the last few weeks.
“It’s not nice to be not at home, not knowing what you’re going to do. I don’t know what I’m going to do after this and stuff like that. Away from the table, just take the positives.”
Trump, 36, was previously dividing his time between Dubai and Hong Kong, where he holds dual residency. His girlfriend, figure skater and TV personality Maisy Ma, also lives in the latter.
‘The Ace in the Pack’ has a bulging £10m net worth he’s amassed over the course of the last 15 years or so, with around £8m of that earned from tournament winnings.
Trump even suggested he’d be purchasing a yacht as his next lavish investment after making the final four of the 2025 Masters. He reached the semis of that competition (where he was then knocked out) to break the record for winnings in a single season and told TNT Sports had his eyes set on a vessel as his next significant splurge.
“Nah, I think I want a yacht next! I think I want a yacht,” he told Jimmy White and Alan McManus with a chuckle. The disruption to his living situation means Trump faces major uncertainty ahead of the Tour Championship. And the lack of a settled abode may also impact his preparation ahead of the 2026 World Snooker Championship in mid-April.
Trump has never won the Tour Championship in six previous attempts at Manchester Central. In fact, each of his previous four appearances have each resulted in losses at the quarter-final phase, having last reached the semis back in 2020.
While his ‘homeless’ status has thrown a spanner in the works, he can be glad to be back on British soil. That sense of at least some home comfort should grant some stability during what’s an otherwise difficult period.
