Roberto De Zerbi to Tottenham takes major twist as manager ‘performs U-turn’ | Football | Sport
Roberto De Zerbi would be ready to step up and save Tottenham from relegation if he is offered the chance to take charge, according to reports. The north Londoners are staring at the possibility of playing Championship football next season after a disastrous Premier League campaign. They are currently one point clear of the drop zone and are yet to win a league game in 2026.
Igor Tudor was brought in to replace Thomas Frank in February on an interim basis until the end of the season. However, the Croatian has failed to turn things around and it’s been reported that he could be sacked ahead of schedule. De Zerbi, who left Marseille last month, has emerged as one of the favourites to take over if Tudor is relieved of his duties.
It was recently reported that De Zerbi had no interest in managing another club until at least the start of next season. He was said to be keen on taking a break from football matters, as was his intention when leaving Marseille.
However, it’s now been claimed by i that he would be ready to ‘get his hands dirty’ and take on the Tottenham job if he is approached.
