Trump threatens NATO split as he launches unhinged attack on allies – ‘Don’t need you!’ | World | News

US President Donald Trump has launched a furious attack on the UK and other NATO allies, issuing a blunt warning in the process.

Mr Trump said the USA will “never forget this very important point in time” as he criticised NATO allies over the recent developments in Iran. Posting on Truth Social, the President said: NATO NATIONS HAVE DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO HELP WITH THE LUNATIC NATION, NOW MILITARILY DECIMATED, OF IRAN. THE U.S.A. NEEDS NOTHING FROM NATO, BUT ‘NEVER FORGET’ THIS VERY IMPORTANT POINT IN TIME! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

This message was then followed by another urging Iranian officials “to get serious soon” and accept a deal to end the war “before it is too late”. The full message said: “The Iranian negotiators are very different and “strange.” They are “begging” us to make a deal, which they should be doing since they have been militarily obliterated, with zero chance of a comeback, and yet they publicly state that they are only “looking at our proposal.” WRONG!!! They better get serious soon, before it is too late, because once that happens, there is NO TURNING BACK, and it won’t be pretty! President DJT.”

U.S. President Donald Trump claimed he has put forward a 15-point proposal in a bid to end the war in the Middle East, but Iranian state media have reported that Iran has rejected the plan.

This is not the first time Mr Trump appeared to attack NATO members. He previously called allies “cowards” and added NATO was a “paper tiger”. “Without the U.S.A., NATO IS A PAPER TIGER! They didn’t want to join the fight to stop a Nuclear Powered Iran. Now that fight is Militarily WON, with very little danger for them, they complain about the high oil prices they are forced to pay, but don’t want to help open the Strait of Hormuz, a simple military maneuver that is the single reason for the high oil prices. So easy for them to do, with so little risk. COWARDS, and we will REMEMBER!,” he said in a message posted on Truth Social.

Mr Trump also criticised the UK over its commitment to the war against Iran and last week he said the UK “should have acted a lot faster” in allowing America to use British bases to strike Iranian missile sites targeting the Strait of Hormuz.

He added: “It’s been a very late response from the UK. I’m surprised because the relationship is so good, but this has never happened before. They were really, pretty much our first ally, all over the world.”

A N10 spokesperson confirmed “the agreement for the US to use UK bases in the collective self-defence of the region includes US defensive operations to degrade the missile sites and capabilities being used to attack ships in the Strait of Hormuz”. Replying to this statement, Iran’s foreign minister warned the UK the regime sees its choice to let the US use British bases as “participation in aggression”.
