When it comes to royal dressing, few do subtle storytelling quite like the Princess of Wales, and her latest appearance was no exception. Joining Prince William at Canterbury Cathedral to witness Dame Sarah Mullally’s enthronement as the new Archbishop of Canterbury, Catherine’s look was elegant, considered, and quietly meaningful.
At first glance, the outfit felt like a masterclass in timeless style. She opted for a sharply tailored coat dress by British label Suzannah London, cut in a refined silhouette that has become something of a signature for the Princess. The bespoke piece, estimated to retail at around £3,000, featured clean lines and a structured finish – but, in true Catherine fashion, she made a subtle adjustment.
Swapping the original tie waist for buttons, she leaned into a more polished, streamlined look, a styling tweak she has returned to time and again over the years.

She completed the ensemble with a coordinating hat by milliner Juliette Botterill, perfectly angled to frame her face, alongside timeless pearl jewellery that instantly elevated the look.
But it was her choice of earrings that carried the most personal significance.
Catherine wore her Cassandra Goad pearl earrings – a delicate and distinctive design she previously chose for the christening of her youngest son, Prince Louis, back in 2018.
The decision to rewear them for such a meaningful religious occasion feels far from coincidental.

As Louis was the last of her children to be welcomed into the Church, the earrings act as a quiet tribute, linking past family milestones with present royal duties.
The earrings themselves are beautifully intricate. Designed in a floral-inspired shape, each pearl sits at the centre of a small cluster, accented with a subtle diamond detail and framed in warm gold.
The craftsmanship gives them both softness and structure – striking that perfect balance between statement and sentiment.
Pieces from Cassandra Goad, a well-known name on London’s Sloane Street, are often associated with heritage craftsmanship, and this particular pair is believed to be worth around £5,000.

It’s this attention to detail that sets Catherine apart. While the coat, hat and overall styling were undeniably polished, it’s the layering of meaning and rewearing the personal references, the quiet nods to family that add real depth to her wardrobe choices. Nothing feels accidental.
Even her beauty echoed this understated approach. Her hair was swept into a neat, low chignon, allowing the earrings to take centre stage, while her makeup remained soft and natural.
Ultimately, this was a look rooted in tradition but elevated through thoughtful styling. Catherine didn’t just dress for the occasion; she told a story through it.
