Woman arrested over murder of sister after head found in Tupperware | World | News
A 63-year-old woman has been arrested after her sister’s head was found in a Tupperware container. Aletta Rose is accused of murdering Constance Scholtz, 79, and then decapitating and dismembering her. It is reported that locals in South Africa became concerned after noticing that Scholtz’s usually tidy curtains were scruffy.
Rose allegedly informed them that her sister had left town. Later, a neighbour noticed a blood stain on Rose’s clothing, it is believed. When Constance’s son, Morne van der Merwe, entered his mother’s flat in David Street, Bellville South, it is thought that he found parts of her body and containers of bloody water.
After police were called, a search of the property resulted in the discovery of more body parts, including Scholtz’s head. This had reportedly been left on a kitchen shelf in Tupperware containers. Western Cape police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk, confirmed that a murder docket has been registered.
He said: “Circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation.
“Motive forms part of police investigations.
“A 63-year old woman was arrested and appeared at Bellville Magistrates Court on Monday, March 23, 2026.”

The Bellville South Community Policing Forum appealed for calm, IOL reported.
It said: “We appeal to the community to remain calm and to allow SAPS the necessary space to conduct a thorough investigation.

“The Bellville South CPF strongly condemns such incidents, particularly Gender-Based Violence against women, children, and the elderly.”
Rose appeared in court earlier this week, carrying a jacket and shoes with no laces, it was reported by The Cape Argus.
She requested to stay in custody as she was unemployed and had no money for bail.
The accused also claimed she did not have a fixed address as lived on the street.
The case was postponed to March 30 for legal aid.
No family members were seen attending the hearing.
