Easter falls on Sunday, April 5 this year, which means scheduled benefit payments due to land in bank accounts on Good Friday or bank holiday Monday will be issued on a different day.
The payments due on Good Friday or bank holiday Monday will be issued on Thursday, April 2, including State Pension, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Adult Disability Payment (ADP), Child Benefit and Universal Credit. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and Social Security Scotland have all confirmed payments due on these dates – Friday, April 3 or Monday, April 6 – will be made early.
DWP also said Jobcentre Plus Offices and phone lines will be closed on Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6, but will open as usual on Tuesday, April 7.
It’s important to be aware that if your upcoming payment does not fall on either of the Easter holidays, it will be paid as normal. Below is a full list of DWP, HMRC and Social Security Scotland payments which could be affected by the Easter bank holiday weekend.
If your benefit or payment is not listed, it will not be affected by the Easter bank holiday weekend, reports the Daily Record.
