FA Cup ball numbers for semi-final draw as Chelsea and Man City learn opponents | Football | Sport
The draw for the FA Cup semi-finals takes place today (Sunday, April 5). The draw is expected to start roughly 15 minutes after the final quarter-final match between West Ham United and Leeds United, which starts at 4.30pm.
Football fans can view the draw live on TNT Sports 1 or stream it via the discovery+ app and website. For those without a subscription, the draw will also be broadcast for free on the TNT Sports YouTube channel, with Becky Ives hosting and Ally McCoist selecting the balls. And the FA has confirmed the ball numbers…
Manchester City were the first team to secure their spot at Wembley following a commanding 4-0 triumph over Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium. Erling Haaland was the standout performer, scoring a hat-trick which dashed Liverpool’s cup dreams and kept City’s chase for a treble of trophies intact.
Chelsea clinched their semi-final berth with a 7-0 demolition of Port Vale later on Saturday. The Premier League titans showed no mercy against League One’s bottom side, halting Port Vale’s remarkable giant-killing streak with a barrage of goals.
Southampton then delivered the most significant upset of the quarter-final round by beating Premier League leaders Arsenal with a 2-1 triumph at home. Despite being the lowest-ranked team remaining in the competition at the time of the match, the Saints managed to fend off Mikel Arteta’s squad to shatter their dreams of a potential treble.
The last semi-final place is still up for grabs as West Ham United gear up to welcome Leeds United at the London Stadium this afternoon. Both teams have temporarily set aside their Premier League survival struggles as they vie for their first FA Cup semi-final berth in a long time.
The FA Cup semi-finals will take place at Wembley Stadium over the weekend of 25 and 26 April. These must-see games will decide which two clubs progress to the final on May 16.
