President Donald Trump’s hands appeared discoloured once again as he hosted the White House’s annual Easter Egg Roll alongside First Lady Melania Trump, triggering a fresh wave of concerns over his health. Monday’s occasion marked the second Easter Egg Roll of the president’s second term.
As he stood observing the festivities, the president appeared to have a significant bruise on his right hand that was seemingly being concealed with makeup. “The back of Trump’s right hand is extremely swollen and discolored, as you can see in this clip,” journalist Aaron Rupar wrote on X, alongside footage of the egg hunt. Social media users also took note of the prominent bruise, questioning what might be behind the recurring discolouration that continues to appear on the president’s hands, reports the Express US.

“I’m sure it’s because of the long event with many handshakes can temporarily swell the hand,” one user said ironically, alluding to one of the explanations the White House has previously offered for the president’s lesions.
“He just came off a treatment… just a gues, don’t yell at me lol… first appearance in public in almost a week and that pattern has held for a year now,” another user wrote.
“He clearly gets IV at the White House, there is no other explanation,” a third user speculated.
Trump has repeatedly been photographed with prominent bruising on his hands. The 79-year-old president has repeatedly been spotted with bruises since his return to the White House last year. Notably, large, dark bruises are frequently visible on the back of both hands.
In February, Trump was seen sporting considerable bruising on his hands. Press Secretary Leavitt has previously attributed the marks to the president’s constant handshaking, describing him as a “man of the people.
“President Trump has bruises on his hand because he’s constantly working and shaking hands all day every day,” Leavitt stated last year.
On a separate occasion, the White House explained in January that his bruising resulted from “clipping” his hand on a table before the World Economic Forum.
However, medical experts have disputed that explanation, with many suggesting the marks are more likely a consequence of his aspirin regime, which the president claims he takes to prevent “thick blood pouring through my heart.
“Bruising can be just simply a one-off thing when you have some trauma, you bump into something,” Dr. Jonathan Reiner, a professor at George Washington University’s School of Medicine and Health Sciences, told CNN. “Aspirin will make you more prone to bleeding.”
Yet bruising is not the only issue stoking concerns about Trump’s health and wellbeing.
The president has also acknowledged undergoing regular medical examinations, though he insists he has “aced” them all. However, The New York Times reported in November that Trump’s total number of public appearances has declined by 39% compared to his first term. That analysis also revealed the President’s public schedule has become considerably more condensed during his second term, with the majority of public engagements taking place between noon and 5pm.

Easter Egg Roll comes amid escalating Iran conflict
The Easter egg roll takes place against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict in Iran. On Easter Sunday, the President issued an expletive-laden statement, threatening to strike Iran’s energy and transport infrastructure if they fail to open the Strait of Hormuz, while also proclaiming “praise be to allah.
“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F—-‘ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP,” he wrote.

The shocking statement prompted reactions from major Trump detractors, including former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who reported the President’s comment and urged his Christian supporters to seek “forgiveness from God.
“On Easter morning, this is what President Trump posted,” Greene wrote in a lengthy X statement. “Everyone in his administration that claims to be a Christian needs to fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God and stop worshipping the President and intervene in Trump’s madness. I know all of you and him and he has gone insane, and all of you are complicit.
“On Easter, of all days, we as Christians should be reminded that the son of God died and rose from the grave so that we can be forgiven once and for all of our sins. Jesus commanded us to love one another and forgive one another. Even our enemies. Our President is not a Christian and his words and actions should not be supported by Christians. Christians in the administration should be pursuing peace. Urging the President to make peace. Not escalating war that is hurting people,” she added.
