On Thursday, Kent Police warned that searches at a property and surrounding area in Hollingbourne are “to continue over the coming days”.

On Monday, officers attended an address in Ashford Road, near Maidstone, to conduct an arrest.

During the incident, a man in his 30s was shot by a police officer and he was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries.

Investigations into the incident as well as searches of the local area have led to closures of the A20 while an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team attended, who found at least four suspicious devices.
