Amazon will make your current Kindle look massively inferior tomorrow
It was all the way back in September last year that Amazon first unveiled its impressive new Kindle Scribe devices. Now, after seven long months of waiting, these book-reading gadgets are finally going on sale in the UK tomorrow, April 8th, and they look set to make current Kindles look massively inferior. The most exciting part of this update is the launch of Amazon’s first-ever Scribe with a colour display. This Colorsoft device features an 11-inch screen that looks a lot more exciting than the usual black and white visuals found on most standard Kindles.
The glare-free panel not only offers a premium reading experience but can also be turned into a digital notebook thanks to the stylus provided in the box. The screen even has a texture to make it feel like writing on actual paper. With this technology packed inside, owners can jot down ideas, mark up documents or add annotations to things they are reading.
It’s not just the screen that’s improved. Amazon is also promising a design that’s now thinner and lighter plus there are 40 percent faster page turns for a more fluid experience. Once fully charged, it can last for weeks without needing to go near a plug.
Alongside that new Kindle Scribe Colorsoft, Amazon is also launching a new Kindle Scribe as well. This gets an 11-inch black and white glare-free display with front light. This device is also thinner and faster along with including Amazon’s Premium Pen for improved notetaking.
Another bonus is that both of these Kindles come with powerful new tools to improve productivity. These include easier ways to store notes using platforms such as Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive.
AI-powered search also helps find old documents more easily, and notes can even be converted to text and shared via OneNote.
Those with a Colorsoft will also be able to write, draw, and annotate in one of 10 pen colours or highlight in one of five highlighter colours.
There’s also the ability for budding artists and creators to create smooth gradients and subtle tones with Amazon’s new shader tool. The firm boasts it will give owners even more control over the depth and richness of their art.
As we mentioned earlier, the new Kindles will go on sale tomorrow, but they are not cheap.
The Kindle Scribe starts from £449.99, and the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft will cost at least £569.99. Ouch!
