Andrew Neil rages at stupidity of Intifada marches post-Bondi killings | World | News

Andrew Neil has launched a furious attack on those attending toxic anti-Israel protests, following the horror terror attack that left 16 people dead at Bondi Beach.

The political commentator took to X after two terrorists opened fire on innocent members of the Jewish community gathered in Sydney to celebrate the first day of Hanukkah. The massacre unfolded on the crowded beachfront on Sunday.

Chilling pro-Gaza protests have swept major cities across the UK, including London, Birmingham, Glasgow and Cardiff, as well as Western cities such as New York, Paris and Berlin since Iran-backed Hamas terrorists slaughtered Israeli festival goers on October 7th 2023, leaving 1,200 dead. Sydney has also seen disturbing demonstrations against the world’s only Jewish State since it suffered the world’s worst killing of Jews since WW2.

So far, as a result of this latest anti-Semitic massacre, 16 people are confirmed dead in Sydney, including a London-born rabbi, Holocaust survivors and innocent children, one of whom was just 10 years-old. Around 40 others are believed to have been injured.

One of the attackers, 50-year-old Sajid Akram, was shot dead by police at the scene. The second gunman, identified as the man’s 24-year-old son Naveed Akram, remains in hospital under armed guard with critical injuries.

“The death toll from the horrendous Bondi Beach massacre continues to rise,” Mr Neil said.

“Latest count is an appalling 16 dead. For those who’ve been marching these past few years demanding to ‘globalise the intifada’, this is a barbarous anti-Semitic consequence of their pro-Islamist stupidity.”

He added: “Western intelligence services will be wondering if this is a terrible one-off atrocity – or a harbinger of worse to come over the festive season.”

Several police officers were injured during a shootout with the attackers, including a constable and a probationary constable who both sustained gunshot wounds.

Meanwhile, Ahmed al Ahmed, 43, has been hailed as a hero after being identified as the man seen tackling one of the terrorists in widely shared footage.

The video shows Mr Ahmed crouching behind a car before leaping onto the gunman, wresting his rifle away as the attacker fled.

Bondi Beach remains closed as a major crime scene, with counter-terror detectives seizing three firearms for forensic testing.

Investigations are ongoing, with Israeli intelligence sources suggesting Iran-backed terrorists may have funded and directed the attack.
