Andrew’s telling gesture towards Princess Kate that spoke volumes | Royal | News

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was spotted angrily glaring at Princess Catherine while she was the “centre of a royal fan frenzy”, a body language expert has claimed. Members of the Royal Family were pictured at Zara and Mike Tindall’s wedding in Scotland in July 2011 – just three months after Prince William and Princess Catherine tied the knot in London.

As the family stood outside of the venue in Edinburgh, Andrew was seen with a “glowered” and “dour” look on his face. Whilst other members of the Firm looked blissfully happy, Andrew appeared with a baleful-looking face.

As reported by the Daily Mail, body language expert Judi James said: “With newlywed Kate a spectacular star in the line-up and with the very emphatic sound of cheering fans going into a major tizzy as she appears, Andrew and Harry step out as the “Spares on the stairs”, lurking behind three top-tier royal couples like players consigned to the subs’ bench.”

Speaking of the disgraced royal, she added: “Andrew appears to be in fully, socially-opportunistic “basking shark” mode here, moving from side to side at the back of the royal group”.

Discussing how Andrew was spotted “looming” behind William and Catherine, she added: “William turns his head back to either speak or listen to Andrew as he looms behind him, suggesting the “Queen’s favorite son” has made his first foray into breaking into the line-up, probably expecting an invitation to join in”.

According to reports and an explosive 2025 biography, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the Yorks by Andrew Lownie, Andrew allegedly made “rude” and “nasty” comments about Catherine.

The author previously told RadarOnline: “I can’t see how anyone could make unkind comments about Kate when she’s been the family’s saving grace.

“It surprised me, but people do get jealous. I’d have thought Andrew would respect William as future king though than to be nasty about his wife.”

Prince William met Catherine at university in the early 2000s, before marrying her in 2011. The couple now share three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
