‘Beautiful’ UK city turns into an ‘autumnal dreamland’ | UK | Travel
One travel blogger on Ourcrossings said the city is “beautiful” at any time of year, but especially so during autumn. There’s said to be an “extra dose of magic” as the leaves transform into shades of yellow, orange, and red. The blogger noted: “With colourful leaves framing its every corner, Edinburgh turns into an autumnal dreamland that feels like a world away from the rest of Europe.”
Edinburgh is a gorgeous place, set against the backdrop of the grand Castle, and has plenty of green parks for people to wander through. Notable destinations include Princes Street Gardens, which you can meander through to the likes of the Scott Monument, Ross Fountain, and towards the National Museum of Scotland.
Then there’s the Royal Botanic Garden, the nearby Inverleith Park – which is just a three-minute walk away – and Edinburgh Old Town.
“The Old Town is home to some of Edinburgh’s biggest and best attractions,” noted Forever Edinburgh.
Famous landmarks include Edinburgh Castle, St Giles’ Cathedral, and the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
The latter is the official Royal Residence in Edinburgh where visitors can see the bedchamber of Mary Queen of Scots.
Edinburgh is also well known for its walking tours, so you can learn about the happenings of a bygone era while getting acquainted with the historic city.
Forever Edinburgh recommend Mercy Tours to discover tales of murder and intrigue around the cobbled streets.
There’s even GuruWalk’s free walking tours for those who prefer to hop-on and hop-off at different hotspots that pique their interest.
Also featuring in the capital of Scotland are countless cosy pubs, eateries and shops to peruse.
