Brian May’s personal Freddie Mercury and Queen photos go on display in 3-D | Music | Entertainment

Aside from being a rock star and astrophysicist, Sir Brian May has a keen interest in stereoscopy.

From an early age, the Queen guitarist travelled with a stereoscopic 3-D camera which found its way onto the band’s tours.

As a result, he would capture behind-the-scenes personal encounters with the likes of Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor and John Deacon.

A few years ago, the 75-year-old published a collection of them in his book Queen in 3-D and now they’re going on display in London’s Proud Galleries to coincide with We Will Rock You’s return to the West End.

The snaps range from pictures from half a century ago to modern shots of Queen and Adam Lambert.

“Honouring the return of our Rock Theatrical WE WILL ROCK YOU to London’s West End – at the fabulous Coliseum !!! Bless you Alex Proud !!! Come and see us when you visit London, Folks !!! Bri.”

Queen Will Rock You in 3-D is currently running at the Proud Galleries until September 23 with an entry of £5.
