Brit living in Benidorm lists features of party capital he can’t stand | Travel News | Travel
For many Brits, living in Benidorm would be the dream. You’ve got glorious sunshine and there are . Plus, in certain places, it’s dirt cheap.
However, according to one Brit living there, there are some major downsides, and in a recent video, he addressed some of his major pet peeves.
Harry Poulton regularly shares his travel tips and advice about the Spanish destination with his 40,500 followers on TikTok under the username @harrytokky.
And this time he was complaining about things he hates, which sometimes even make him want to take drastic measures and fly back to the UK.
The content creator begins: “The fake alcohol drinks on Benidorm beach. Massive hate. You’re going to get these people come up to you and try to sell you dodgy alcoholic drinks, and you have no idea where they’re being made.
“You don’t even know what they’re actually putting in these supposed alcoholic cocktails. Absolutely avoid them.”
The next thing that he despises is “pea-men’s scam games”. But who are pea-men, and what are the games they play?
He said: “These [people] do dodgy games on Benidorm beach, trying to scam you out of your own hard-earned money. Horrible.”
Apparently, they also have pick-pockets watching so that when you’re transfixed on the game, they can nab stuff from you.
The final thing he hates about Benidorm, and it’s totally understandable, is the so-called ‘Muggers Alley’. And it’s the women who allegedly loiter there that he has the biggest problem with.
Harry fumed: “They are absolutely dreadful. They are ladies of the night, thieves, and are just crooks.
“They’re going to try and rob you, take your phone. You name it, they’re going to steal it.”
In the comments, many agreed with Harry’s list, with one saying they had a similar experience, writing: “I was in Benidorm last week and they started following me and my family, so we stopped at a shop and they passed”.
Another said they’d seen the people selling the cocktails “stir them with their fingers” and then put the “bottle in the bushes”.
Somebody penned: “Unbelievable! Why do people keep going?”
But, when the price of a pint can be under £1, and food can be super cheap too, it’s clear to see why people keep going back to this party destination.
