British tourists issued urgent warning to check their passport ahead of deadline | Travel News | Travel

Booked a summer holiday? It might be time to check your passport, according to a warning from the Post Office.

June 13 marks six weeks until the onset of the summer holidays and Britons are being urged to check their passport is in date.

While the Government advises that passport renewal can take three weeks, the Post Office recommends leaving at least six weeks to receive a new document.

Research by the team found that a third of UK passport holders are unaware of their document’s expiry date.

Britons will need to check the expiry date against the end date of their holiday as tourists will need to have at least three months left on their passport to travel to the EU.
