Fabio Fognini’s best years may be behind him but he is not to be taken lightly as a former world No. 9.

The 38-year-old has now slipped way outside the men’s top 100, with most of his best Grand Slam coming years ago.

He did reach the third round at Wimbledon in 2024, though – his joint-best performance at SW19.

Fognini, whose best surface is clay, is no stranger to controversy and he is known for his outspoken personality, which could lead to one or two interesting moments as this match unfolds.
