Cheap does not mean they are low-quality travel destinations. In fact, you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes, rich historical sites, and delicious local dishes in these wonderful cities.

According to a recent study by Travelchinaguide, Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province in the west, is the most budget-friendly destination in China. There are loads of restaurants and food stalls offering cheap but delicious Sichuan food.

Generally, holidaymakers can each at a street restaurant for around CNY 30 (£3). Some of the best free attractions include Chunxi Road, Jinli Street, Wide and Narrow Alley.

Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Dujiangyan Irrigation System, Mount Qingcheng, and Wuhou Temple charge a small entry fee, but they are totally worth the visit.
