A stand-up comedian revealed a major life update during his performance and was promptly heckled by someone in the audience. Many comics draw upon personal experiences and anecdotes as material for their comedy routines, and Stuart Law is no exception.
During a recent performance, he started discussing his choice to undergo a vasectomy. He doesn’t have children and wished to keep it that way.
Increasingly, more and more people are opting to remain childfree, although being upfront and open about this decision can sometimes attract criticism from parents.
Stuart informed the crowd at a show: “I didn’t have any children and I got a vasectomy.”
A distinct “boo” rang out from the audience, causing him to ask: “Did someone boo me?”
He then walked towards the disapproving spectator and questioned her: “Why so, may I ask?”
She replied: “I mean, I feel like it’s in our biology to, like, have kids, you know?”
The crowd then began booing the heckling woman. Stuart then quipped: “And when did you devote your life to Jesus Christ?”

The woman replied: “How did you know?”
To which Stuart jokingly responded: “Because you said an insane thing. It’s incredibly easy to spot. Furthermore, you said it with a lot of confidence. But it’s your culture, I’m not gonna criticise.”
Stuart posted footage of the exchange to Reddit, captioning it, “Booed for not having kids”.
In the comments section, viewers were eager to share their reactions. One person said: “‘Because you said an insane thing’ Hilarious!”
Another said: “I’m impressed with how quickly he answered her with this comment. Took not even a second take to deliberate.”
A third said: “If you’re childfree and have been around enough people grilling you and judging you about your decision for years, you have zingers at the ready. Same with Christians I guess!”
A fourth pondered: “I’m so curious what she thinks about people that can’t physically (some may even say biologically) have kids.”
Someone else said: “Such a profound statement. I feel like it’s also biology for a sentient being to be able to make their own choices”.
Another was impressed with the comedian’s response to the situation and simply said: “That was well done!”
One Reddit user shared: “My response to ‘it’s in our biology to have kids’ would be along the lines of ‘well that’s why I went to the doctor to have it fixed.’
“I wonder if the biology lady has ever been to the doctor? Like, if her biology was going to make her die, would she not change it if she could?”
Another commented: “It’s incredibly responsible to not have kids if you don’t want kids.”
And another added: “It’s insane to insist that people who don’t want kids to have kids. If there’s one thing society doesn’t need, it’s unwilling parents.”
