Customers told ‘do not eat it’ as urgent food recall issued over ‘health risk’ fears | UK | News

An urgent “do not eat” warning has been issued as officials recall seafood products due to possible health risks. Young’s Seafood is recalling its Gastro 2 Lemon & Pepper Fish Fillets as it contains mustard which is not mentioned on the label.

The popular £2.60 product is available at several major UK supermarkets, including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Iceland. The Food Standards Agency said in a statement: “This product contains mustard, making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard.”

It added: “Young’s Seafood is recalling the above product from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a recall notice to its customers.

“These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.”

The FSA continued: “If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return the product to the store where it was purchased for a full refund. “
