‘Desperate’ Sarah Ferguson eyes up £150k speaking jobs amid Andrew chaos | Royal | News
A “desperate” Sarah Ferguson had reportedly been considering undertaking well-paid dinner appearances following her gargantuan fall from grace. The latest release of the Epstein files suggested Sarah has been through money struggles for years, and confided in the paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein, after he had been convicted of child sex offences in 2008.
Emails suggested the former prince’s ex-wife asked him how to deal with a £6million debt pile while he was still in jail for soliciting prostitution from a minor. She then appeared to ask Epstein £20,000 “urgently” to pay rent in 2009.
“The landlord has threatened to go to the newspapers if I don’t pay. Any brainwaves?” the email said.
An email from the paedophile claimed that he had helped her financially for 15 years, while she had also appeared to ask for a role as his house assistant in May 2010.
“I am the most capable and desperately need the money… Please Jeffrey think about it.”
This week, after her ex-husband was arrested on his 66th birthday, Alison Boshoff for the Daily Mail reported that Fergie had been discussing sky-high dinner appearance deals to solve her finances.
Exchanges between Ferguson and an agent this month appeared to show she hoped to pocket £150,000 plus expenses for a talk later this year, which would have included two first–class flights.
The agency Yrds said it had not represented Fergie since last summer, but after initially denying knowledge of a deal, it conceded that it had “passed on” an offer to her.
It comes at a catastrophic time for Fergie, after her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested yesterday on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
The former Duchess of York has been keeping a low profile after the latest files were released by the US Department of Justice.
In the wake of the revelations, six of Fergie’s companies are in the process of being closed, according to documents filed with Companies House.
It is unclear where she is at present, but reports suggested she spent time with friends in the French Alps before moving on to the UAE.
Inclusion in the Epstein files does not indicate any wrongdoing.
