Dubai flights latest as 25 airlines cancel all flights to city – full | World | News

The US/Israel-Iran conflict, which has now spread across the Gulf and the Middle East, has affected thousands of flights.

Several airlines have cancelled all flights to and from certain destinations, including Dubai, Doha, and Abu Dhabi, also affecting 100,000 British nationals.

Among the most popular that cancelled their operations was British Airways. The airline will not operate any flights until the summer, it announced on Tuesday, as the UAE city continued to be the target of Iranian retaliatory strikes, with explosions being heard that night by locals. Meanwhile, Emirates is operating flights to Dubai, but many are near empty, it has been reported.

Qatar Airways is currently operating a limited number of flights till 28 March 2026, and KLM has announced the suspension of all flights to Dubai, Riyadh, and Dammam until May 17. It said: “We continue to evaluate the situation and remain in close contact with the relevant authorities.”

Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific has confirmed it will stop all flights to and from the United Arab Emirates city until the end of next month.

The UK Foreign Office currently advises caution or against all but essential travel to the UAE and other Gulf states due to regional tensions. Those already in the UAE are advised to follow local authorities’ instructions, register your presence with the UK government and be prepared for sudden changes in the security situation. People in locations including Dubai, Bahrain, and Kuwait are being advised to take shelter, the Foreign Office also added.

The number of British nationals who have flown back from the Middle East since the start of the Iran war has hit 100,000.

Yvette Cooper said UK citizens in the Gulf were left “stuck” in the region after fighting broke out at the end of February.

In a message published on its website earlier this week, BA also said: “Since the situation in the Middle East began, we’ve helped thousands of customers return home and operated eight relief flights from Muscat in Oman.

“We are also operating additional flights to and from Singapore (x4) and Bangkok (x3) and continue to review options to bring back more customers who have been disrupted.” In another recent update, the airline shared more details about its schedule and said it has extended the suspension of its flights to the Middle East until June.

BA also extended cancellations to Amman, Bahrain, Dubai and Tel Aviv up to and including May 31. Flights to Doha in Qatar have also been cancelled until April 30.
