England wait on injured star as Wales and Scotland dealt blows | Rugby | Sport
As the dust settles on an explosive opening weekend to the 2024 Six Nations, the build-up to the second round of matches has begun. England took the step of announcing their 36-man party to prepare for Wales on Saturday, with both sides expected to finalise their match-day squads in the next 24 hours.
It’s Ireland looking the strongest though, after their superb win in France on Friday. And they’ll be expected to brush aside Italy on Dublin on Sunday.
Scotland just about hung on for a dramatic win in Cardiff, and take on a wounded Les Blues in Murrayfield on Saturday. But they won’t have to worry about facing second row Paul Willemse, after he was given a two-game ban following his red card again Andy Farrell’s team.
Scotland v France kicks off at 2.15pm on Saturday, with England v Wales at Twickenham given the 4.45pm slot. The first Sunday affair of the 2024 Championship will see Ireland host Italy at 3pm.
The game at Murrayfield will be live on BBC, with the latter two on ITV. They will follow the same three fixtures taking place at Under-20s level on Friday night.
