Red Bull boss Christian Horner has warned Mercedes that visual upgrades are sometimes the least impactful.

The Silver Arrows’ revamped sidepod design is on show in Monaco this weekend, with team boss Toto Wolff hoping that it will allow them to close the gap on their rivals.

When pressed on the upgrades, Horner told reporters: “Well, to be honest, I haven’t had an in depth look at them. Obviously, visually, they look a bit different.

“But sometimes the visual things actually have the least performance impact. It’s what’s usually underneath the skin or the finer detail that has the biggest impact.”
