The other all-Premier League tie will see Leeds United visit either Brentford or West Ham United, who play on Monday night. The draw took place at the London Stadium as part of TNT Sports’ pre-match build-up to the only fifth-round tie still to be played, which completes the weekend’s round of fixtures.

The FA Cup quarter-final ties will be over the weekend of Saturday 4 April after this month’s international break. Organisers will announce the exact dates and kick-off times in due course after the competition’s television broadcasters, the BBC and TNT Sports, make their television selections.​

Both semi-finals at Wembley Stadium will be three weeks later on the weekend of Saturday 25 April. This year’s final is on Saturday 16 May, which falls on the penultimate weekend of the Premier League season.

TNT Sports will broadcast all of the quarter-final ties, while two will also be on the BBC. Both semi-finals will also be shown by the pay television channel, with the public service broadcaster showing one of them. The two will each air the final.

Arsenal and Chelsea will fancy their chances of being in those semi-finals after avoiding a Premier League opponent in tonight’s draw. The Gunners are up against the Championship’s form team in Southampton, but they could still be eyeing a place in the play-offs by the time they return to FA Cup action.

Port Vale are also not mathematically relegated yet and have several games in hand, so taking their FA Cup form into League One could give them a chance of staying up before their trip to Stamford Bridge. Liverpool and Manchester City are still fighting on multiple fronts, and the latter could still be on for a domestic cup double if they beat Arsenal in the League Cup final.

Brentford, Leeds United and West Ham United will all fancy their chances of reaching the semi-finals after that draw.
