An action thriller praised as Jason Statham’s ‘best ever’ performance and described by viewers as ‘not your typical action movie’ is set to broadcast on Film 4 this evening.

Wrath of Man boasts an impressive ensemble, helmed by Guy Ritchie and starring Jason Statham, Holt McCallany, Josh Hartnett, and Rocci Boy William.

The production represents the fourth partnership between director Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham, their first reunion since 2005’s Revolver.

Released in 2021, Wrath of Man centres on an enigmatic and taciturn figure called “H” (Jason Statham) who enlists with Fortico Security, a Los Angeles cash-in-transit firm, seeking vengeance for his son’s killing during a robbery.

Using a non-linear narrative structure, H demonstrates lethal combat expertise, neutralising thieves targeting his vehicle whilst penetrating the criminal underworld to track down those accountable for his tragedy, building towards a brutal, deeply personal confrontation.

A five-star Rotten Tomatoes review from an enthusiast said: “This is not your typical action movie, it’s done a bit differently and it is an absolute banger. This movie is very dark, cold , mysterious, gangster, most reptile Jason performance ever. It’s very well done, it stands out from most other movies. “This movie surprised me with how good it was and I really enjoyed the whole revenge storyline with Jason Statham’s character,” said another.

One fan wrote: “A really awesome movie. I love guy ritchie and don’t usually like Statham except for lock stock and snatch but he is really good in this movie. The music score is so good and sets the dark ominous tone of the movie so well and the action is great, cinematography, editing, pacing for the most part. Great supporting cast and just overall beautifully bad ass masculinity that we aren’t getting anymore and I really miss.
